Michael J.K. Bokor, assistant professor of English at Long Island University in New York, was the recipient of the David Newton Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Bokor is the first African scholar to serve as a full-time faculty member in the university’s English department since the establishment of LIU in 1926.
Dr. Bokor is a graduate of the University of Cape Coast. He holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Illinois State University.
