New Dental Simulation Laboratory Now Operating at Meharry Medical College

meharryMeharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, has debuted its dental simulation laboratory that was made possible by a $750,000 grant from Delta Dental Inc.

The new facility has 30 workstations that operate in the manner of a private dental practice. Students can practice any dental procedure from a routine cleaning to a root canal on mannequins. All procedures can be videotaped and may be viewed by faculty to evaluate student performance.

Pew Research Center Reports on Demographic Breakdown of the American Middle Class

According to a report from Pew Research Center, Black Americans are the least likely racial group to be middle-class. Roughly 46 percent of all Black households are middle-class, compared to national rate of 52 percent among all American households and 55 percent of all White households.
