John Dabiri was named the next dean of undergraduate students at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. Dr. Dabiri is professor of aeronautics and bioengineering and director of the Biological Propulsion Laboratory at the university. He will begin his new role on July 1.
Professor Dabiri is a 2001 graduate of Princeton University, where he majored in mechanical and aerospace engineering. He earned a master’s degree in aeronautics and a Ph.D. in bioengineering from CalTech. Professor Dabiri joined the CalTech faculty in 2005. In 2010, he was named a MacArthur Fellow.
