The College of New Rochelle in New York has announced the appointed of two African American women to vice president positions. The college enrolls about 4,000 students and more than half of the undergraduate student body is Black.
Betty Roberts is the new vice president for finance and administration. She was the chief operating officer at Alcorn State University in Mississippi.
Dr. Roberts is a graduate of Tusculum College in Greenville, Tennessee. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Louisville and a doctorate in adult higher education from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
Elaine T. White was promoted to vice president of student affairs. Since 2012 she has served as dean of students. Earlier, White was director of student development for Manhattan College.
White is a graduate of the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University. She holds a master’s degree in counseling from Manhattan College.
