Sandra Austin was appointed chief executive officer at the Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. She has been serving as managing director of Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group and previously was chief management officer for the Public Hospital of Louisiana State University in New Orleans.
Austin earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She holds a master’s degree in public health, with concentrations in health and hospital management, from the University of Michigan and a juris doctorate from Cleveland State University.
