Jackson State University Takes Its Marketing Efforts Nationwide

jsuJackson State University, the historically Black educational institution in Mississippi, recently reported that total enrollments this fall are 9,802 students. This is an increase of 294 students from a year ago. The university has had record enrollments for three consecutive years.

But Jackson State now is extending its marketing outreach by showing a television commercial on national cable networks. The commercial will be featured on MTV, VH1, BET, and other cable outlets.

C_Ashton_HallAshton Hall, interim marketing director for university communications at Jackson State, said that “this commercial will expose JSU to millions of viewers. Even with our steady growth, we still want potential students to keep us at the top of their minds so that they will know Jackson State offers an array of opportunities and flexible academic schedules for traditional and non-traditional students. We’re showing that JSU is a growing part of our community. We’re telling the story that JSU is more than just a HBCU that embraces longstanding traditions but also one that is just as comprehensive as the state’s other larger institutions of higher learning.”
