Vanderbilt University Launches Blog Dedicated to Diversity-Related Efforts on Campus

The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Vanderbilt University in Nashville has launched “Strengthening the Ties,” a new blog designed to bring awareness to diversity-related happenings across the Vanderbilt campus.

The new blog will feature the various efforts of programs, offices, and departments at Vanderbilt that are conducting equity, diversity, and inclusion work. The website will also provide toolkits and educational content related to cultural observances and holidays, share relevant issues at Vanderbilt, and highlight the experiences and accomplishments of diverse individuals at Vanderbilt. Additionally, James Page Jr., vice chancellor for equity, diversity, and inclusion will share personal insights and perspectives on the new blog.

“The new Strengthening the Ties blog will celebrate many ways that diversity not only elevates our mission, but unites and strengthens our community,” said Page. “This is one more way that we can continue to have brave conversations on challenging topics, share our individual and collective ‘diversity story’ as a university, and connect staff, students and faculty with helpful resources and information as we continue on our journey toward building a community that embodies and reflects our values of equity, diversity and inclusion.”

Page is a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he majored in computer technology. He earned an MBA at the University of Texas at Austin.
