Fort Hays State University in Kansas Launches New Degree Pathway for Students in Senegal

Fort Hays State University in Kansas has recently signed an agreement with DUNIS Africa to create a new cross-border academic program in Dakar, Senegal.

The new agreement is an expansion of the two parties’ ongoing partnership that has existed since 2017. Prior to the new program, students at the Senegalese university could complete two years of coursework at DUNIS Africa before transferring to Fort Hays State to finish their undergraduate education. Now, DUNIS Africa students can complete all four years in Senegal and still receive a bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State. Beginning in fall 2025, participating students will complete their first two years of coursework with DUNIS Africa faculty and their last two years virtually with Fort Hays State professors, culminating in a bachelor of business administration degree in international business and economics.

“Our partnership with DUNIS-Africa is Fort Hays State University’s mission in action,” said Jeni McRay, assistant professor for internationalization and strategic initiatives at Fort Hays State. “We are making degrees accessible and affordable, allowing students the opportunity to develop as an engaged global citizen leader. When they graduate, they are prepared for real-world challenges as they enter the workforce and contribute to their local communities.”
