New Faculty Appointments for Three Black Professors

Olaoluwatoni Alimi has joined the Princeton University faculty as an assistant professor in religion and the University Center for Human Values. He comes to Princeton from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he has taught for the past year. A specialist in religion, ethics, and politics, he is the author of Slaves of God: Augustine and Other Romans on Religion and Politics (Princeton University Press, 2024).

Dr. Alimni earned his bachelor’s degree in religion from Princeton. He went on to receive his master’s degree in ethics from Yale Divinity School and his Ph.D. in religion, ethics, and politics from Princeton.

Barbara McCaskill has been granted the title of distinguished research professor at the University of Georgia. She is a full professor of English who has been with the university since 1992. For the past eight years, she has served as the associate academic director of the Wilson Center for Humanities. She is the editor and author of several books, including Love, Liberation, and Escaping Slavery: William and Emily Craft in Cultural Memory (University of Georgia Press, 2015).

Dr. McCaskill is a summa cum laude graduate of what is now Columbus State University in Georgia, where she majored in English. She holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in English from Emory University in Atlanta.

Francis Tsiboe has joined the North Dakota State University faculty as a senior research economist and program leader at the Agricultural Risk Policy Center. He will also serve as a research assistant professor. With a background in agricultural risk management, applied microeconomics, and international development, he most recently served as a research agricultural economist with the United States Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service.

A graduate of the University of Ghana, he holds a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas and a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Kansas State University.
