Dawn M. Nail has been selected to serve as interim associate vice provost for enrollment management at North Carolina A&T State University. This is the second time Dr. Nail has served in this capacity at the university. For the past three years, she has been executive director of the Center for Academic Excellence. Earlier in her tenure, she was head of undergraduate admissions.
Dr. Nail earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations from North Carolina A&T State University. She holds a master’s degree in corporate communication from Austin Peay State University in Tennessee and a Ph.D. in educational leadership and management from Capella University.
Darryl Scriven was named executive director of Florida A&M University Centers and Institutes. In this role, he will provide strategic oversight and operational leadership for the HBCU’s 27 research centers and institutes. Previously, Dr. Scriven led the FAMU Cyber Policy Institute. He has more than 25 years of higher education experience, including academic leadership roles with Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, and Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina.
Dr. Scriven received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics, philosophy, and religion from Florida A&M University. He holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in philosophy from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Letitia Williams was promoted from interim vice president to permanent vice president of the division of student affairs at Morgan State University in Baltimore. Dr. Williams previously served as the university’s associate vice president and dean of students. Before joining the Morgan State administration, she held senior leadership roles with the University of the District of Columbia, the University of Trinidad and Tobago, and the University of Maryland.
An honors graduate of the University of the West Indies, Dr. Williams holds a Ph.D. in education policy from the University of Maryland.
Marci Middleton has been named vice president of academic affairs at Denmark Technical College in South Carolina. Dr. Middleton comes to her new role from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia, where she was acting vice president of academic affairs and director of distance education. Her other experience in higher education includes academic support roles with Georgia Gwinnett College, Shorter University, and the University System of Georgia.
Dr. Middleton earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology from Emory University in Atlanta. She holds an MBA from Augusta State University in Georgia and both a master’s degree in human resource management and a Ph.D. in educational policy studies from Georgia State University.
Chandra Dorsey-Felton is the new athletic director for Florida Memorial University. She is the first woman to lead the university’s athletics department. Dorsey-Felton previously served as FMU’s deputy athletic director for student success and compliance. She has extensive experience as an athletics administrator and as a Division I women’s basketball coach, including service at Tulane University in New Orleans, Texas State University, Wichita State University in Kansas, McNeese State University in Louisiana, the University of Southern Mississippi, and the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma.
Dorsey-Felton received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Mississippi.
