Tennessee State University Launches Transfer Agreement With a Local Community College
Tennessee State University and Nashville State Community College have launched the Tiger Track Transfer Program, a new strategic initiative to create a seamless pathway from an associate’s degree to a bachelor’s degree for students in the Nashville area.
Under the new partnership, students who are not ready to attend a four-year university due to academic, financial, or other personal reasons can start at Nashville State while receiving ongoing advising, counseling, and support from both institutions. Participants in the Tiger Track Transfer Program have guaranteed admission to Tennessee State, including a waived application fee. Students will also have access to enrollment counseling and scholarships, including a $3,000 annual award for students who meet academic requirements. While the program encourages students to complete their associate’s degree before enrolling at Tennessee State, the initiative is designed to support them at any stage in their academic journey.
“This partnership ensures that students are supported, empowering them with clear pathways and confidence to reach their academic and career goals,” said Shanna Jackson, president of Nashville State. “Education is the strongest ladder to economic mobility. I am excited to take our partnership with TSU to the next level. This is a win for students, employers, and our shared community.”
“Through this partnership, we are ensuring that Nashville State students have the support, resources, and opportunities they need to seamlessly transition to TSU,” said Dwayne Tucker, president of Tennessee State. “We are proud to provide a high caliber academic environment where students can complete their degrees and prepare to lead in a global workforce.”
