Henry Shannon, superintendent and president of Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California, has announced he will retire on September 24 after nearly two decades of service to the two-year college.
Dr. Shannon has more than four decades of experience in higher education. Before assuming the presidency of Chaffey College in 2007, he was chancellor of St. Louis Community College. Prior to his chancellor position, he served as a campus president and chief student affairs officer at the college. Dr. Shannon has also held faculty and administrative appointments with Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis and St. Louis University.
A graduate of Harris-Stowe State University, Dr. Shannon holds master’s and doctoral degrees from Washington University in St. Louis.
