The University of Colorado at Boulder and Iowa State University have each announced four finalists for the office of dean of students.
Pamela D. Anthony, assistant dean of students at Georgia State University, is a candidate for dean of students at each university. Anthony is a graduate of James Madison University in Virginia. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. from Georgia State University.
Update: On May 18, Dr. Anthony was chosen as dean of students at Iowa State University.
This is one of the dumbest thing I have seen. Why would a candiate for a job advertise their being considered for another job. Perhaps you tell one that during the interview but to publish it? In any event, good luck young lady.
Under so-called “sunshine laws” many state universities are required to publish lists of finalists for top positions. Candidates often have no say in the matter. The fact that a candidate has become a finalist for a number of positions shows that search committees at different universities came to a similar conclusion that a particular candidate is worth serious consideration. It is fairly common for people to be candidates for more than one position.
Good Luck to you, Pamela!
