Michael Snowden has been selected to serve as vice president for diversity and inclusion at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Since 2001, he has served as chief diversity officer, ADA coordinator, Title IX coordinator, and director of Office of Inclusive Excellence at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Dr. Snowden holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, a master’s degree in educational administration and leadership, and a Ph.D. in higher education administration, all from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Schvalla R. Rivera has been appointed chief diversity officer, associate vice president of diversity and inclusion, and senior advisor to the president at Grinnell College in Iowa. Dr. Rivera was the assistant to the president for diversity and inclusion at Southern Utah University.
Dr. Rivera holds a bachelor’s degree in social science from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana. She earned a master’s degree in political science and a Ph. D. in curriculum and instruction from Indiana State University.
Dannie Moore has been named the new vice president for strategic initiatives and chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer at Eastern Kentucky University. He was the assistant vice president for student affairs at Northern Kentucky University.
Dr. Moore is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he majored in communication. He holds a master’s degree in college student affairs from Eastern Illinois University and an educational doctorate from Northern Kentucky University.
Tanisha Stevens is the inaugural vice chancellor for diversity, equity, and inclusion at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She had been serving as interim director of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and as director of the Office of Academic Integrity at the university. Dr. Stevens joined the staff at the university in 2003.
Dr. Stevens holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She earned a master’s degree in counseling from Saint Louis University and a doctorate in educational leadership & policy studies from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Clyde Wilson Pickett has been named the University of Pittsburgh’s vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion. He has been serving as chief diversity officer for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System. Earlier, Dr. Pickett was chief diversity officer for the Community College of Allegheny County in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Pickett is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he majored in agricultural economics. He earned a master’s degree in education from Morehead State University in Kentucky, and an educational doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh.
Karen A. Jones is the new vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion At Binghamton University in New York. She was chief diversity officer at Buffalo State College in New York.
Dr. Jones is a graduate of Buffalo State College. She earned a doctorate from the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York System.
