Shirley J. Everett, senior associate vice provost for residential and dining enterprises at Stanford University, was given the added duties of senior adviser to the provost on equity and inclusion. Dr. Everett joined the staff at the university in 1991.
A native of Chicago, Dr. Everett is a graduate of Valparaiso University in Indiana. She holds an MBA and a doctorate in education from Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga.
Emmanuel Adero has been named the deputy chief officer for the Office of Equity and Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Adero joined the Office of Equity and Inclusion in April 2018 and has been serving as the senior director of diversity outreach, assessment, and planning.
Adero holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sociology and has a background in social research and analysis in the public and non-profit sectors.
Torsheika Maddox was promoted to be the inaugural senior operations officer and chief of staff to the interim deputy vice chancellor for diversity & climate and chief diversity officer in the Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She joined the staff at the division in 2015.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Dr. Maddox earned two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
