Seven African Americans Appointed to Administrative Positions in Higher Education

Kimberly Conway Dumpson was promoted to vice president for institutional advancement at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne. She was serving for the past seven years as director of alumni affairs at the university.

Dumpson is a graduate of Towson University, where she majored in political science and sociology. She earned her law degree at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.

Teresa Hardee was named vie president of finance at Delaware State University in Dover. She was the chief financial officer and vice president for administrative and financial services at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. Previously, she was assistant vice chancellor for budgets and financial planning at North Carolina Central University in Durham.

Dr. Hardee holds a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Pennsylvania.

Linda S. Greene was named vice chancellor for equity, diversity, and inclusion at the University of California at San Diego. She has been serving as the Evjue Bascom Professor of Law at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She will begin her new duties in January.

Professor Greene is a graduate of California State University at Long Beach and the law school at the University of California at Berkeley.

Josephine D. Davis was named interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Fort Valley State University in Georgia. Davis is the former president of York College of the City University of New York system. She is also the former dean of graduate studies at Albany State University in Georgia and was vice president for academic affairs at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota.

Dr. Davis is a graduate of Spelman College. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and an educational doctorate from Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Adriel A. Hilton was named assistant vice president for inclusion initiatives at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. He has been serving as executive assistant to the president and chief diversity officer at Upper Iowa University in Fayette.

Dr. Hilton is a graduate of Morehouse College. He holds a master’s degree from Florida A&M University and a doctorate from Morgan State University.

Nevada Winrow was appointed interim director of assessment in the division of academic affairs at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. She was an assistant professor of psychology at Baltimore City Community College.

Dr. Winrow is a graduate of Lincoln University. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in neuropsychology from Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Philip Sherrill was named director of corporate/foundation relations in the division of university advancement at Norfolk State University. For the past seven years, he was director of development and assistant to the vice president for development at Hampton University.

Sherrill is a graduate of Norfolk State University, where he majored in psychology.
