Paul Watson II Is the New Leader of Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan

The board of trustees at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan, has appointed Paul Watson II as interim president of the college. Dr. Watson has been vice president for instruction at the community college since 2019.

“I am excited to lead KCC at a pivotal time in higher education and look forward to working with all constituents: our board, faculty, administrators, staff, community members, and students to ensure that we continue to thrive and uphold our legacy as an exceptional institution of higher education,” Dr. Watson said. “I look forward to our continued partnership towards the betterment of our students and community.”

Kellogg Community College enrolls nearly 3,500 students, according to the most recent statistics available from the U.S. Department of Education. African Americans are 7 percent of the student body and women are nearly 70 percent of all students.

From 2011 to 2019, Dr. Watson was an administrator at the  Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, including serving as assistant dean and dean of academic success. Earlier, he was an assistant professor of mathematics at Houghton College in Houghton, New York.

Dr. Watson is a graduate of Houghton College, where he majored in mathematics. He holds a master’s degree in mathematics from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in teaching and curriculum from the University of Rochester in New York. Dr. Watson holds a doctorate in educational leadership and management from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
