Voorhees University Gains Approval to Offer a New MBA Program

Historically Black Voorhees University in Denmark, South Carolina, has received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to offer a new master’s degree program in business administration. The MBA program will be offered online, with the first cohort to begin classes in January 2024.

Under the new MBA program, Voorhees will offer minors in human resource management and data analytics. The minor in human resource management allows students to gain expertise in managing and developing human capital within organizations. This specialization prepares students for careers in HR, enabling them to effectively recruit, train, and retain employees, manage employee relations, and design compensation and benefits programs.

The minor in data analytics equips students with the skills to collect, analyze, and interpret data to make informed business decisions. Organizations rely on data analytics to gain insights, optimize operations, and drive strategic initiatives in today’s data-driven world. This minor prepares students to excel in roles related to data analysis, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making.

“Offering an MBA with these minors allows Voorhees University to provide students with a well-rounded education that combines core business knowledge with specialized skills, preparing them for successful careers in various business domains,” said Katherine Whitaker, dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Voorhees University.
