Vernon Siders Jr. was named chief of police and security at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He previously served as a police officer in New York City and Davidson, North Carolina.
Siders holds a bachelor’s degree from what is now Henley-Putnam School of Strategic Security in Santa Clara, California. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in criminal justice leadership.
Ruthie Little-Berry was appointed chief student development and success officer for the University of the District of Columbia. She was the associate vice president for enrollment management and student success at Florida A&M University.
A graduate of what is now Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, Florida, Little-Berry holds two master’s degrees from the University of Phoenix.
Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, has announced that De’Shawn Barnes is its new director of alumni affairs. Previously, Barnes had been serving as an enrollment counselor in the Office of Enrollment Management.
Barnes is a graduate of Lane College, where he majored in business administration.
