New Student Success Center Planned at Winston-Salem State University

ssc-north-entranceWinston-Salem State University in North Carolina has announced a $13.5 million renovation project to create a Student Success Center on campus. A former science building on campus will be used for the new center that will house student support services, mentoring programs, career development services, and offices for international programs.

chancellorDonald J. Reaves, chancellor of Winston-Salem State University, stated, “The Student Success Center is our most important capital project. The success of our students is a function of our ability to enhance the classroom experience by providing a myriad of academic support services and educational opportunities. Consolidating these services will support the University’s efforts to provide students with the critical support services that they need in an environment that is modern, convenient, and welcoming.

Fundraising for the project is still underway but significant support from corporations including Reynolds Aluminum, BB&T Bank, and Wells Fargo has already been received.
