
A member of the NASPA since 2013, Dr. Dixon was honored with the Sankofa Award for her commitment and contributions to the organization as the HBCU liaison for the BDKC. The award is not her first from the NASPA. In 2021, she received the Outstanding HBCU/Minority-Serving Institution Professional in Region III Award. She is active within the association and recently served as a presenter and faculty member for the association’s African American Women’s Summit in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Dixon holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Oakland University in Michigan, a master’s degree in college student affairs leadership from Grand Valley State University in Michigan, and a doctorate in higher education from Jackson State University.
