The Department of Public Service and Administration (PSAA) in The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University invites nominations and applications for two tenured or tenure-track positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level that are open with respect to subfield, starting in August 2025. Successful candidates will be expected to carry out a vigorous program of research and actively contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, and service to the university and the profession. Strong research and teaching interests across traditional subfields of public management and administration will be highly valued, as will the ability to teach core courses in public administration such as public budgeting, public management, cross-sector collaboration, leadership, ethics, and program evaluation at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The positions are a full-time, 9-month appointment with a standard 2-2 teaching load.
The Bush School of Government and Public Service was founded in 1997 under President George H. W. Bush’s philosophy that “public service is a noble calling.” Since then, the Bush School has continued to reflect that notion in curriculum, research, and student experience and has become a leading international affairs, political science, and public affairs institution. PSAA faculty at the Bush School teach courses in both the master’s degree and new undergraduate major in Public Service and Administration. Successful applicants must have a Ph.D. in Public Administration, Public Management, Public Policy, Political Science or a related discipline in hand by date of hire. The individual selected will need to demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, service, and research in the context of a public policy environment.
