Job Description:
Summary:
This position will provide primary management of advancement data to support the departmental needs as well as the fundraising and engagement efforts of the Biomedical Advancement team. The Development Coordinator will serve as the data expert and subject matter expert for reporting and data management within Workday and Phenix to inform the Brown Medical Annual Fund strategy to lead to increased dollars and donors, while overseeing student and recent medical graduate engagement, cultivation, solicitation and volunteer management efforts This position works closely with and provides an advanced level of support for the Director of Development and the Medical School annual giving program to implement various programs, fundraising efforts, and events to engage the medical community and build the pipeline for annual giving.
Job Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Required: Bachelor’s degree
- Required: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (development, sales, customer relations and administrative)
- Experience in a higher-education, fundraising, or non-profit setting highly desirable
- And/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Competencies
- Excellent communications (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Word processing skills; proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Comfortable with various data management systems; computer savvy.
- Ability to be sensitive and diplomatic working with a vast number of volunteers and donors.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy.
- Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external constituents of the Medical School and the University.
- Ability to work well with a diverse population, as this position interacts with a large number and variety of individuals.
- Must be well organized, self-reliant and dependable
- Ability to work in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks despite frequent interruptions.
- Ability to exercise discretion and sound independent judgment in daily contacts with University trustees, alumni and parents, high-level Brown faculty and staff, and assistants to CEOs and presidents of the top corporations and foundations in the country.
- Must be interested in growth and career opportunities in development (fundraising) and/or alumni/University relations.
- Ability to work some nights and weekends during events when necessary.
- Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment
