Jonathan A. McElderry has been named president of ACPA – College Student Educators International, a leading student affairs association dedicated to advancing student affairs and engaging students for a lifetime of learning and discovery. Dr. McElderry will lead the organization for a one-year term.
Throughout his career in academia, Dr. McElderry has been dedicated to student success, diversity, and professional development. For the past three years, he has served as dean of student inclusive excellence at Elon University in North Carolina. He also teaches as an assistant professor. Prior to his current role, he spent over six years with Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he served as the assistant dean of students and executive director of the Intercultural Center.
A first-generation college student, Dr. McElderry is a graduate of George Mason University in Virginia, where he majored in administration of justice. He holds a master’s degree in college student personnel from Ohio University and a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
