The newly renamed School of Business, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Technology, and Tourism Management (S-BEAST-TM) at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Redemption Higher Institute of Biomedical and Management Science (RHIBSMS) in Buea, Camaroon. The new partnership – the first international pact signed by the S-BEAST-TM – will facilitate faculty exchanges and provide students with access to programs offered at each institution.
Cameroon’s Ministry of Public Health established RHIBMS in 2010. The institute provides several academic programs, including nursing and midwifery, pediatrics, public health, pharmacy technology, and clinical psychology.
“This agreement will allow us to be more strategic in our reach while also enabling our students to become more global citizens,” said Heidi M. Anderson, president of UMES. “We can be online, we can be in person, and we can be across the globe with our various programs.”
