Andrew Daire Appointed Provost at North Carolina A&T State University

Andrew P. Daire was recently named the next provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at North Carolina A&T State University. He will begin his new role as the HBCU’s chief academic officer on May 1.

Since June 2023, Dr. Daire has served as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has more than three decades of combined leadership experience at R1 research institutions, including service as dean of the School of Education at Virginia Commonwealth University, associate dean for research in the College of Education at the University of Houston, and co-founder of the Marriage and Family Research Institute at the University of Central Florida. As a scholar, Dr. Daire focuses his work on family stability, economic mobility, and STEM recruitment and retention.

“I am honored to join North Carolina A&T, a university with such a rich history of excellence and a clear vision for the future,” said Dr. Daire. “I look forward to working with faculty, staff, and students to build on the university’s momentum and ensure that every Aggie has the support they need to succeed.”

Dr. Daire received his bachelor’s degree in biology and his master’s degree in mental health counseling from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. He earned his Ph.D. in counseling psychology and school psychology from Florida State University.
