Tanja R. Darden is the inaugural faculty leadership fellow for community engagement and societal impact in the College of Business & Economics at Towson University in Maryland. An assistant professor of management, Dr. Darden previously spent 18 years as a consultant in information technology and organizational strategy. Her research examines inclusion, employee–supervisor relationships, and the experiences of minority entrepreneurs.
Dr. Darden holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. She earned a Ph.D. in organizational behavior studies from Georgia State University.
Leapetswe Malete was named a Gwen Norrell Professor in Youth Sport and Student-Athlete Well-being at Michigan State University. Dr. Malete joined the MSU College of Education in 2016 as an associate professor and director of global initiatives for the department of kinesiology. He also directs the university’s International Research in Youth Sport, Physical Activity, and Health Lab and serves as president of the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity
Dr. Malete holds a bachelor’s degree in humanities from the University of Botswana and a Ph.D. in sport psychology from Michigan State University.
Igho Ofotokun is the new chair of the department of medicine at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. Before his new position, Dr. Ofotokun was the Grady Distinguished Professor of Medicine and associate dean for research development at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He also served as a professor of behavioral, social, and health education sciences in Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health, staff physician at Grady Health System, and co-director of the Emory Center for AIDS Research Clinical Core.
Dr. Ofotokun earned his medical degree from the University of Benin in Nigeria. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Michigan, as well as additional training in clinical and translational science at Emory University.
