Housed in the HBCU’s College of Sciences and Engineering, the new undergraduate program was developed with support from Shell Chemicals and other industry partners to address growing workforce demands across Louisiana’s industrial, manufacturing, and technology sectors. Through a combination of laboratory instruction, research initiatives, and experiential learning opportunities, the curriculum spans topics from chemistry, physics, mathematics, engineering science, and process design. Beyond these core foundations, the program places a strong emphasis on process safety, sustainability, advanced manufacturing, process optimization, artificial intelligence applications, and emerging engineering technologies.
