Jillian Jackson is the new dean of students at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr. Jackson has extensive higher education experience in student affairs, academic affairs, instructional leadership, and student success. Prior to her new role, she served as Shaw University’s director of digital teaching and learning. Earlier in her career, Dr. Jackson held various leadership roles with the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning and the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
Dr. Jackson is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, where she majored in elementary education. She holds a master’s degree in school administration from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and a doctorate in educational leadership with a concentration in higher education from Fayetteville State University in North Carolina.
Ronald Wabomnor was appointed associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students at North Carolina A&T State University. For the past two years, Dr. Wabomnor has served as dean of students at Florida International University. Before that role, he worked for the University of Miami in a series of leadership roles, including director of residential life, director of COVID-19 operations, and assistant director of safety and security. His career in academia began as a resident director at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Wabomnor is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology. He holds a master of public administration degree from the University of Southern Indiana and a doctorate in leadership and professional practice from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville.
Kevin Reese has been selected to serve as interim vice president of student affairs and dean of students at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. Dr. Reese has an extensive background in higher education, including prior roles in student affairs, enrollment management, multicultural affairs, residence life, student engagement, and institutional operations. Most recently, he served as director of multicultural affairs at Georgia Southern University. Additionally, Dr. Reese is the founder of the Vision of Excellence Scholarship Program, which seeks to empower Black male students to pursue higher education.
Dr. Reese is a graduate of Kentucky State University, where he majored in public administration. He holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from North Park University in Chicago and a doctorate in the same discipline from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Charles E. Stallworth is vice president for student affairs and dean of students at Talladega College in Alabama. After beginning his career in marketing and business, Dr. Stallworth transitioned to higher education in 2011 as an English instructor at Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama. He went on to serve in numerous senior academic and administrative roles at the HBCU, including vice president of student affairs and dean of students, vice president of enrollment management, and executive administrator in the Office of the Provost.
Dr. Stallwoth is an alumnus of Miles College, where he graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in English. He holds a Ph.D. in urban higher education from Jackson State University in Mississippi.
