Macalester College, a leading national liberal arts college located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, invites inquiries, applications, and nominations in its search for Vice President for Administration & Finance and Chief Financial Officer (VPA&F). 

The VPA&F serves as Macalester College’s chief financial and administrative officer and is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting directly to President Suzanne M. Rivera, the VPA&F provides strategic leadership, counsel, and long-range planning to advance the College’s financial health, operational effectiveness, and institutional priorities. The VPA&F will bring a broad, enterprise-wide perspective to the role, helping Macalester align its resources and administrative practices with its educational mission, values, and the success and well-being of its students, faculty, and staff. 

The VPA&F oversees a wide-ranging portfolio that includes finance and business services, human resources, facilities services, public safety, and auxiliary operations. Beyond the management of a complex portfolio, the VPA&F will lead and develop a talented administrative team, foster coordination across functions, and establish policies, processes, and systems that support effective and responsive operations. The VPA&F will be expected to balance strategic vision with disciplined execution, respond effectively to emerging and unexpected circumstances, and contribute actively to shared institutional goals and initiatives as a collaborative member of the Senior Leadership Team.

While the final compensation package for this position will be commensurate with experience, the expected salary range for this role is $225,000 – $275,000 annually. Macalester also offers an excellent comprehensive employee benefits package.
