Addrain Conyers has been selected to serve as interim provost and dean of faculty at Marist University in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Dr. Conyers has been a faculty member at Marist University since 2012. He teaches courses in the areas of race and crime, criminology, and social deviance. As a scholar, his research centers on criminology, deviant behavior, corrections, prisoner reentry, and race relations. Throughout his tenure with Marist, Dr Conyers has received several awards in honor of his outstanding teaching and mentorship, including the Board of Trustees’ Faculty Award for Distinguished Teaching.
Dr. Conyers holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology and an educational doctorate in higher education from Boston College. He earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in sociology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
