Two African American Men in New Administrative Roles in Higher Education

pr_Dr_ClarkIrvin T. Clark III is the new vice president of student affairs at Georgia Piedmont Technical College in Clarkson. From August 2012 to his new appointment, he was interim vice president of learning support at Frederick Community College in Maryland. Previously, he served as associate vice president for student development and dean of students at Frederick Community College.

Dr. Clark holds a bachelor’s degree in social relations and a master’s degree in adult and continuing education from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. He earned an educational doctorate in community college leadership from Morgan State University in Baltimore.

AbrahamTurnerAbraham J. Turner was named coordinator of military and veterans affairs at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. He was the director of the department of employment and workforce for the state of South Carolina.

Major General Turner was a graduate of the ROTC program at South Carolina State University. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania.
