Historically Black Florida A&M University has entered into a partnership agreement with the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University to establish the FAMU/FAU Medical Scholars Program.
Under the agreement, undergraduate students accepted into the program will be offered provisional acceptance into the medical school provided they successfully complete the Medical Scholars Program curriculum. Students in the program must maintain a 3.5 grade point average and take a required Medical Scholars Program course each semester during their undergraduate years that will focus on professionalism, ethics, problem-based learning, and other topics. In addition, students in the program will be required to undertake physician-shadowing activities and community service.

This year there are four first-year students at Florida A&M who have been accepted into the program.
