Devenia Wallace, a longtime professor at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, died late last month. She was 93 years old.
Wallace was a graduate of what is now the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and earned a master’s degree from Virginia State University. She joined the faculty at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in the late 1950s teaching courses in home economics and dietary studies. She served as chair of the home economics department, now known as the department of human ecology. She retired from teaching in 1978.
