Report Documents 20 Years of Research on Black Fraternities

A 20-Year History copyThe Center for the Study of the College Fraternity at Indiana University has released a new study entitled, A 20-Year History of Black Greek-Letter Organization Research and Scholarship.

The report gives an overview of the nine Black Greek-letter organizations. Suggested practices for advancing Black fraternities are offered by the authors. And an extensive bibliography documenting 20 years of scholarly research on Black Greek-letter organizations is provided.

Donald MitchellLead author of the study is Donald Mitchell Jr., an assistant professor of higher education at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Mitchell is a graduate of Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he majored in chemistry. He earned a master’s degree from Minnesota State University-Mankato and a doctorate in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota.
