Shaw University Names Acting President

FaulconShaw University, the historically Black educational institution in Raleigh, North Carolina, announced that Gaddis Faulcon is now serving as acting president, upon the retirement of Dorothy Crower Yancy. Dr. Faulcon has been serving as an associate professor of public administration and dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies at the university. He will serve until a permanent president is inaugurated. As acting president, Dr. Faulcon is not eligible to apply for the position on a permanent basis.

Dr. Faulcon has been on the faculty at Shaw University since 1998. He previously served on the faculty at St. Augustine’s University in Raleigh and at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina.

Dr. Faulcon is a graduate of St. Augustine’s University. He earned a master’s degree in recreation resources and public administration and an educational doctorate from North Carolina State University.
