Fort Valley State University Names Three African American Men to Administrative Posts

fvsuFort Valley State University in Georgia has announced the appointments of three African Americans to administrative posts.

FVSU.appointeesJoshua Mufree was named director of intercollegiate athletics at the university. He has served as athletics director and chair of the department of psychology at Albany State University. Earlier in his career, he was superintendent of the public school system in Albany, Georgia.

C.JonesCharles Jones was appointed chief legal officer and director of government relations. He has been on the staff at Fort Valley State since 2011. Jones holds a bachelor’s degree and a master of public administration degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia. He earned a law degree at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Gary MillerGary Miller was named chief information officer at the university. He has served as interim CIO at Fort Valley State since 2010. In 2008 he founded Unlimited Consulting Technologies and joined the staff at Fort Valley State in 2010.
