Three Black Men Given New Faculty Assignments

Elnardo Webster was named director of the Center for After School and Expanded Learning at St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this faculty position, Webster will develop academic enrichment programs for youth in the Jersey City public schools.

Dr. Webster is a graduate of St. Peter’s University and holds an educational doctorate from Seton Hall University.

Juan E. Gilbert was named to the Andrew Banks Family Preeminence Endowed Chair in the department of computer & information science and engineering at the University of Florida. He was the chair of the Division of Human-Centered Computing at Clemson University in South Carolina.

Dr. Gilbert is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio. He holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Cincinnati.

tengatengaJames Tengatenga was appointed distinguished visiting professor of global Anglicanism in the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He has been serving as a presidential fellow at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

A native of Zimbabwe, Dr. Tengatenga is a graduate of the Zomba Theological College in Malawi. He earned a master of divinity degree at the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas, and a Ph.D. at the University of Malawi.
