New Positions for Three African American Administrators

LaTanyLatanyaBucka Buck was named the inaugural director of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion at Washington University in St. Louis. She was director of the Cross Cultural Center at Saint Louis University.

Buck holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a master’s degree in college student personnel administration from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg . She is a doctoral candidate in higher education administration at Saint Louis University.

ShamisAbdiShamis Abdi is the new chief of staff to the president of Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. She was the director of operations for the Girls Preparatory Charter School in New York City.

Abdi is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in sociology. She earned an MBA at the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.

MorricePelema I. Morrice was appointed chief enrollment officer at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. He has been serving as associate vice chancellor of enrollment management at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Before joining the staff at the University of Nebraska in 2011, Dr. Morrice was assistant dean at the University of San Diego.

Dr. Morrice holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from San Jose State University. He earned a doctorate in higher education from the University of Michigan.
