Harris-Stowe State University Enters HBCU-China Scholarship Program

GOLDSEAL_HSSUHarris-Stowe State University, the historically Black educational institution in St. Louis, has announced that it has joined the China Education Association for International Exchange and Historically Black Colleges and Universities Pilot Network.

Under the program, the Chinese government will issue 1,000 full tuition scholarships for students at HBCUs to study in China for periods ranging from four weeks to two years. The first group of students from Harris-Stowe State University will go to China in 2015.

Harris-Stowe is the ninth HBCUsto join the pilot network. Other HBCUs in the network are Bowie State University, Hampton University, Howard University, Morehouse College, Morgan State University, Spelman College, Tougaloo College, and Xavier University of Louisiana.
