New Faculty Appointments for Three Black Scholars

carbinMichael Carbin was hired as an assistant professor of electrical engineering and computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He will being teaching in January 2016.

Carbin is a Ph.D. candidate at MIT and is working at Microsoft Research in Redmond, Washington. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Stanford University and holds a master’s degree from MIT.

constance_ilohConstance Iloh was hired as an assistant professor of higher education at the School of Education of the University of California, Irvine. She is currently completing work on a Ph.D. at the Rossier School of Education of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and will take on her new faculty role on July 1.

Iloh is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park, where she majored in psychology. She holds a master’s degree in business management from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

AmoahNana Amoah was promoted to associate professor of accounting at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. According to the Ph.D. Project, Dr. Amoah is one of only 104 Black men teaching accounting at U.S. business schools.

Dr. Amoah holds an MBA from Howard University and a Ph.D. in business from Morgan State University in Baltimore.
