Malcolm Butler to Lead the Association for Science Teacher Education

MalcolmButlerMalcolm B. Butler, associate professor of science education at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, was named president-elect of the Association for Science Teacher Education. He will serve one year as president-elect and then become president of the association.

The Association for Science Teacher Education promotes leadership and support for professionals involved in the education and development of teachers of science at all levels. The organization was formerly called the Association for the Education of Teachers in Science.

Dr. Butler has been on the faculty at the University of Central Florida since 2012. Previously, he taught at the St. Petersburg campus of the University of South Florida.

Dr. Butler is a graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he majored in physics. He holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction in science education from the University of Florida.
