Ivy Tech Community College Partners With HBCUs in Faculty Diversity Initiative

ivy_vt_wIvy Tech Community College is a statewide system in Indiana that enrolls about 200,000 each year. The Ivy Tech system has announced the establishment of the Sam H. Jones Faculty Fellows Program that will recruit master’s degree level students from historically Black colleges and universities. The late Sam H. Jones was president and CEO of the Indianapolis chapter of the National Urban League.

Half of all African Americans who are enrolled in higher education in Indiana attend an Ivy Tech Community College campus.

Ivy Tech hopes to recruit three to five new faculty members from its HBCU partner institutions each year to serve as faculty members at campuses with large percentages of minority students.
