Morehouse College Getting a High-Tech Makeover

Aided by gifts from members of the historically Black college’s board of trustees and a donation of software from Microsoft Inc. valued at $700,000, the $6.8 million makeover will improve Wi-Fi access throughout the Morehouse campus and provide students, faculty, and staff members, with an array of new technology tools.

clifford-russellClifford Russell, the chief information officer at Morehouse, said that “the major thing we are going to see are radical improvements in our management structure. Students are going to see tangible user tools that they simply did not have before. They will have much easier access to technology through the network refinements that we’ll be able to put into place, and it will all be secure.”

  1. Very exciting for Morehouse College! They have always stayed on the forefront of efficiency through the use of technology.

  2. How in 2015 Morehouse College will finally be able to provide a secure Wi-Fi campus wide when other higher education institutions in the immediate area have already been providing this service for its students, faculty, and staff for years. Something is inherently wrong with this strategic planning picture. If Morehouse College is behind the IT curve, one can only imagine the IT posture at other HBCUs in the state of Georgia.
