Bowie State University Starts Construction of New Science Center

bowie-stateBowie State University in Maryland has broken ground on an academic building that will be called the Center for Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Nursing. The 148,995-square-foot building is scheduled to be completed in 2017.

The new building will provide flexible classrooms, as well as state-of-the-art research and instructional laboratories, to foster collaboration across academic programs. The new facility was needed to support the university’s effort to recruit and retain more students interested in STEM fields.

The new science center will also allow the university to expand the number of students it admits to its nursing program.
