Rubin Jordan Is the First Recipient of a Fire Services Degree From Albany State University

rubin-jordanRubin Jordan, who has served as a firefighter for 23 years with the fire department in Albany, Georgia, is the first person to earn a bachelor of applied science in fire services administration degree from Albany State University. The degree program was established in 2013. Jordan already had two years of college experience under his belt and was able to complete the requirements for the applied fire services administration degree in two years. He continued to work as a firefighter while enrolled at Albany State.

Jordan notes that “fire service has changed to fire prevention. It’s more educational. It’s more strategic management. Now it’s about more than putting out fires. It’s about understanding the characteristics of fire service.”
