The New Class of Carnegie African Diaspora Fellows

HB-Carnegie-ADFThe Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program sends African-born scholars who are currently teaching at American or Canadian universities to Africa for 14 to 90 days during the summer to collaborate with faculty members at African institutions on curriculum development, research, graduate teaching, training, or mentoring activities. The fellows will work with African faculty members in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda. Expenses for the scholars to travel to Africa and a daily stipend will be paid. Since the beginning of the program in 2013, there have been 169 scholars selected for the program.

The 59 scholars in the latest cohort of Carnegie African Diaspora Fellows and their current academic affiliations are listed below. The country in Africa where they will be working as a fellow is listed in parentheses. Ten of the scholars currently teach at historically Black colleges and universities.
