Ed Roberson, a long-time educator, has been selected to receive the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize from the Poetry Foundation. The $100,000 prize honors outstanding lifetime achievement in poetry.
Roberson is the author of nine books. Among his latest works are To See the Earth Before the End of the World (Wesleyan University Press, 2010) and The New Wing of the Labyrinth (Singing Horse Press, 2009).
Roberson was a professor of literature and creative writing at Rutgers University. He now lives in Chicago, where he has taught at the University of Chicago, Columbia College, and currently is an artist-in-residence at Northwestern University. A native of Pittsburgh, Roberson is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
