Shaw University, the historically Black educational institution in Raleigh, North Carolina, has announced a partnership with the Community Alternative Program for Children of RHA Howell, a nonprofit organization that works with disabled adults and children in North Carolina. The organization’s Bridges program provides assistance to help disabled people receive the services they need from government agencies, nonprofits, and the medical community.
Under the new agreement, social work students at Shaw University will spend 16 hours per week and 240 hours a semester in field work with the Bridges program. Students in the program will interact with nonprofit professionals and the clients they serve.
