New College or University Administrative Appointments for Five African Americans

Kathi Dantley Warren will be the next associate vice president for development at Rice University in Houston, Texas. She has been the senior executive director of development at the Duke Cancer Institute in North Carolina.

Warren is a graduate of Hampton University in Virginia. She holds a master’s degree in cell and molecular biology and microbiology from Duke University.

Andre Phillips was named director of the Office of Admissions and Recruitment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He joined the admissions office in 2011 as senior associate director. He has served as the interim director since August 2016.

A native of Chicago, Phillips earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago and did graduate work in business at the University of Chicago.

Cheryl Lynn Horsey has been appointed chief enrollment officer at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. She has been serving as vice president for enrollment management and student services at Gwynedd Mercy University in Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Horsey is a graduate of Long Island University in New York. She holds a master of public administration degree from Pennsylvania State University and a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Social Work at Bryn Mawr College.

Walter McCollum was named dean of student affairs at Walden University, which is headquartered in Minneapolis. He is the first African American man to serve as a dean at Walden in the institution’s 47-year history.

Dr. McCollum is a graduate of the University at Albany of the State University of New York System. He holds a master’s degree in management from Webster University and a Ph.D. in applied management decision sciences from Walden University.

Rene Davis was appointed Title IX officer at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She has been serving as the Title IX coordinator at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

Davis is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is a master’s degree candidate in higher education at Bay Path University in Longmeadow, Massachusetts.
